30 more test positive for COVID-19 in UT

Puducherry: As many as 30 more persons tested positive for the Coronavirus since the last 24 hours in the Union Territory.

According to the COVID 19 status released by the health and family welfare department on Friday, 16 patients—eight each from Jipmer and Government Medical College— here were discharged after they have recovered and two patients from Tamil Nadu added to Puducherry account.

With this, 322 patients were presently undergoing treatment in hospitals.While, 27 new cases were reported in Puducherry region, three in Karaikal region.

Presently 210 cases are being treated at the Government Medical College, 87 in Jipmer, 21 in Karaikal Government General Hospital, One each in Mahe, Yanam, Cuddalore and Chidambaram government hospitals.
So far 534 persons were infected by the virus in UT and of which 203 patients were treated and discharged, nine died and 322 patients were being treated in hospitals.
