Chennai: Transasia Bio-Medicals Limited, India’s Leading IVD player, has donated 25 BiPAP ventilator machines for deployment in various COVID-dedicated hospitals all over Tamil Nadu to tide over the second wave
In spite of the current shortage in the availability of these machines, Transasia procured these machines from its global vendors, according to a release today.
Health Minister Ma.Subramanian and Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine Dr.T.S.Selvanvinayagam received the ventilator machines from S.Satheesh Kumar, Zonal Manager, Chennai and Mr.S.Ramanathan, Divisional Business Head, South Division of Transasia Bio-Medicals Ltd.
Transasia also handed over free of charge 32 units of H360, three part differential hematology analyzer and 5 and 3 units of H 560 and Elite 580 respectively, five part differential hematology analyzer.
These equipment aid in monitoring disease severity in COVID patients. The total value of the donation from Transasia Bio-Medicals is over Rs. 2.25 crores. Mr Suresh Vazirani, Founder and Chairman, Transasia-Erba Group, said “the second wave is devastating and is taking a toll on the healthcare system of our country.”
“While we are hopeful that things will turn around for India soon, we realized that just hope is not enough. Transasia remains committed to the health of Indians and through our small effort, we intent to reach out to those severely impacted and in urgent”, he said.
