Jammu: Many people were feared missing as a cloudburst hit a remote village of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir on early Wednesday.
An official said that the cloud burst occurred in village Honjar of Dacchan in which 35 to 40 people are missing.
However, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma while confirming the report of cloudburst to UNI said, “it is a remote village and exact details of missing persons or any casualties are yet to be received.”
“There are 8 to 10 houses from where the cloudburst is reported. Rescue teams are dispatched to the spot which is an on-foot travel of few kilometres,” he said.
More details are awaited, added the Deputy Commissioner.
Meanwhile unconfirmed report of another cloudburst is also being reported from remote area of Gulabgarh in Ramban district.
